Lorraine Residence
A family estate in Lorraine, framed by layered gardens, a stone terrace by the water, a cedar pavilion, and an outdoor kitchen made for long summer evenings.
The Project
A private landscape designed for outdoor living.
In Lorraine, Groupe Venise shaped the grounds of this brick family residence into one composed outdoor setting. Stone steps framed by clipped boxwood welcome guests at the front, while curving walkways, tall cedar hedges, wide lawns, and generous borders of white flowers lead the eye through every part of the garden.
Behind the house, a stone terrace with natural boulder edging and tropical plantings creates a calm retreat by the water. A cedar and brick pavilion with a stacked-stone fireplace wall, a lounge, and a long dining table opens onto the trees, joined by a brick outdoor kitchen with a wood-fired oven and grill, a garden pavilion with its own washroom, and fire-pit patios tucked into the woodland.
