Centre des viandes F. Iasenza Stores
Eight butcher shops built and renovated by Groupe Venise for Centre des viandes F. Iasenza, across three regions of Greater Montréal: street-front stores, shopping-centre units, and standalone buildings, each finished to one brand standard.
The Project
Eight stores, one standard of construction.
Groupe Venise built and renovated all eight Centre des viandes F. Iasenza butcher shops, for a family business that has served Montrealers since 1981. The network reaches across three regions: five stores on the Island of Montréal, in St-Michel, Montréal-Nord, Tétreaultville, LaSalle, and Dollard-des-Ormeaux; two in Laval, including Vimont; and one in Longueuil on the South Shore. Every site started from a different building, from a two-storey brick corner store and a shopping-centre unit to large standalone buildings with their own parking lots, and every one now reads clearly as an Iasenza store, with the red signage and round logo that customers recognize.
Inside, the work is measured in long runs. Refrigerated butcher counters stretch the length of each store, with butchers at work behind the display and digital menu screens overhead. Full grocery aisles, rows of glass-door freezers, and checkout areas fill the rest of the floor under bright lighting, with high open steel structures in the larger stores. Checkered red-and-white floors, flag bunting, and a black-and-white photo mural from the company’s history carry the Iasenza identity from one location to the next. Groupe Venise also built the company’s distribution warehouse, which supplies the stores.
